Mitsubishi A6M2 Type 21 Zero Fighter

Koike-san has almost certainly painted more A6M Zeroes than any other artist in the world.  He's painted every single variant, from the prototype to the Model 62, but this lovely and classic rendition of the workhorse Model 21 certainly stands out among his efforts.  A national hero in the same sense that the Spitfire is the pride of Britain, Koike nevertheless says "I frankly cannot understand why the Zero alone attracts this much interest and is this popular."
