Few aircraft have seen as many iterations as the Avro Anson. Originally designed as a fast, civilian airliner, it ended being used in dozens of different roles and configurations in military service, primarily in trainer and patrol/recon roles. One such trainer example is portrayed here in a work by Koike that emphasizes the plane's relatively unique lines against a relatively orthodox cloud backdrop. Over 11,000 Ansons were built and they served with distinction in various roles for nearly three decades, starting in the mid 1930s. Koike loves to pay tribute to the unsung heroes of aviation, such as the Anson, with beautiful renditions like this art.
This print is recreated using offset printing on heavy art stock identical to that used by Koike for his originals. It is printed at 100% of the size of the original artwork, and all color reproduction has been approved by Koike personally. Ships flat.
