Halberstadt C.L.IV Reconnaissance Biplane

Product Description

The brilliant positioning of the aircraft and ground in the Koike painting of a Halberstadt CL.IV give the viewer the uncanny sense of hovering in the sky above the plane, and can almost induce vertigo when staring at the work in its original size!  The CL.IV, which boasted great maneuverability, was one of, if not the, first plane in the world to be designed specifically for the ground attack role.  It was used effectively to attack infantry ahead of German advances beginning in 1918, and in other roles, too.
