Vought F4U-5N Corsair

Product Description

This gorgeous two-for-one tribute to the fantastic Vought Corsair somehow manages to seem colorful even though blue tones dominate both the fore and background of the work.  "It's a very unique, and very attractive airplane," says Koike.  "The nose gets even longer and bulges a bit more beginning with the dash-5, giving the plane's lines even more sexiness."  The twist in this painting is that NP 21/Annie Mo in the background, flown by Lt. Guy Bordelon, is far more famous than NP 24/Yokosuka Queen, flown by Lt. Ralph Hopson, in the foreground.  Both were with VC-3 Det. D stationed on the USS Princeton during the Korean War.
