There are a number of British aircraft with names that don't exactly convey speed or elegance. "Mosquito" comes to mind, as does "Walrus," the subject of this fine painting by Koike. Despite this plane's ungainly appearance, it was reinforced for catapult launches, and could actually be looped. This excellent work gives the viewer's eye plenty to do, as Koike has painstakingly recreated the aircraft's delicate rigging and engine detail with almost photographic precision.
This print is recreated using offset printing on heavy art stock identical to that used by Koike for his originals. It is printed at 100% of the size of the original artwork, and all color reproduction has been approved by Koike personally. Ships flat.
