Soaring over what is most likely the French Alps on a beautiful day, this colorful Koike portrayal of a 1930s Air France 22-passenger, three-engined airliner takes the viewer back to the calm before war broke out in Europe. Only 30 D.338s were built, but several of them survived the war and continued to see domestic French service for a short time. As usual, Koike's skillful use of color, light and shadow in the aircraft and in the various greens of the background create a scene that not only documents its subject beautifully, but is attractive as a landscape as well.
This print is recreated using offset printing on heavy art stock identical to that used by Koike for his originals. It is printed at 100% of the size of the original artwork, and all color reproduction has been approved by Koike personally. Ships flat.
