Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk.X Fighter

Product Description

While the Beaufighter saw service in many roles, it was the "Torbeau," or torpedo fighter Mk.X version of the plane that became its defining role.  Armed with torpedoes and 60lb. rockets, as seen in this great depiction, the planes were devastating against shipping in both the Pacific theater and Mediterranean.  Koike's painting -- once again a pose that shows off the aircraft's inner beauty to maximum effect -- manages to give us a crazy color (purple water?) that somehow works brilliantly to keep what he prefers to refer to as an "illustration" firmly within the realm of fine art.
